While we're in Birmingham this weekend we'll be paying a visit to our friend and supporter Scott Register. Scott programs a radio show called Reg's Coffee House that runs every Sunday morning from 10-2 on 100 .5 FM in Birmingham. Chance Encounters...

This past Friday I was scheduled to spend some studio time recording a few new songs, just me and the guitar. As it turned out, Tom Bukovac (aka. Session Man---who's played with everybody from Faith and Martina to Rob Thomas) came in while we were working and said he'd like to see about putting a band together to record some of the songs....the next day! So on Saturday I got to spend the day with Tom, Audley Freed (Jakob Dylan, Black Crows), and Shawn Fichter (Peter Frampton)...it was an amazingly fun day and we got some wild new material out of it. Can't wait to share some of it with you...

Autism Speaks, ATL, and BHam

I played at a benefit this past weekend that was the Kickoff event for a campaign that's new to Nashville called "Autism Speaks." The culmination of this event is a huge walk in September for the teams who have raised money for the cause. There are a lot of fantastic people involved and I'd definitely encourage participation and donation, especially since this is their first year. Here's their site.

Myself, Beau Stapleton (guitar/mandolin), and Bryn Davies (bass) are off to Atlanta and Birmingham next weekend (August 2 and 3). Smith's Olde Bar in ATL on Saturday, then radio and Birmingham Small Stages on Sunday. Would love to see some of you who live in those areas!
